When you get what you need but it's not what you want

We have another Shakespeare performance this evening, "Twelfth Night" (in Russian), but to save money and time we are not staying the night in Stratford on Avon... This means a 2 1/2 hour drive there for me, and a 2 1/2 hour drive back late at night. I am quite tired today, and worked in the garden this morning, and I'm feeling quite achy-shaky, as though I haven't eaten enough. Maybe I haven't. I've had a couple of days when the numbers in CoM are great, but I haven't felt enthused or satisfied by anything I've eaten - it's been eating for the sake of nutrition, and out of necessity. I don't feel as though it is has been eating that has nourished me in an emotional sense, and I need to work on that.

We have a table booked for dinner pre-theatre and right now I am trying to finish my enormous spinach lunch salad with yogurt, LLBY, mushrooms, and yellow pepper included in the CoM report below. So, once again, I know my nutrition is good, and actually the salad is delicious, but... I think I am just very tired.

Here is the crunch for today minus whatever ends up being pre-theatre dinner. I've left myself room for it.

I'm sorry to hear that you're feeling so tired and not quite right. I hope you start feeling better soon!

That's some impressive nutrition for 700 calories - what was your breakfast?

Hope you're feeling better.

In general, when I am feeling weak-ish, the answer is always: protein and wine. Protein first, wine later.

And some unsaturated fat.

If I have a drive to do and am feeling shaky, I'll eat 10 g almonds for the road, or a megamuffin. That helps A LOT.

Hello both... I am feeling much less blah this morning, but it's only 7am. The good thing about being so low on calories before dinner was that I could enjoy what I ate without the slightest worry about it, and I think that's what I needed. I didn't feel deprived, or like a pig. (It helps that the portions in Lambs are tiny, too).

April - I'd already eaten my 20g almonds! :-( But I had the wine with dinner - Italian Sauvignon. Yum.

Emily - I think it was a bit of a cheaty day to get the numbers that good. Breakfast was 20g Kelloggs All Bran Fibre Plus and 20g Grapenuts, pumpkin seeds, a brazilnut and almonds; I also ate 150g Total 0%, 100g strawberries, 200g spinach, 250g mushrooms, 100g broccoli (BIG SALAD), 7g LLBY to bump and complete the B's, a whole sweet yellow pepper (grilled), and had 250ml of my Alpro Soya Lite (again, fortified). And supplemented with Vit D.
