Who was saying in one of these groups that food companies are adept at inventing things for the latest food craze. So if people are focusing on fish oil for a source of the right oils, they will soon be putting it as an ingredient in many foods. So what you found was possibly not so surprising. Remember when they were putting oat fiber in everything? Maybe it was the article in the NY Times by Michael Pollan, a short version of his book, the Omnivore's Dilemma, that mentioned this.
